Paint a Halloween
Pumpkin 🎃

Using your pencil, sketch the scene. Draw a bare tree trunk with a few thin branches on the left side. In the upper right, draw a circle for the full moon. In the lower center, draw a round pumpkin shape with a small stem on top. Draw a curved ground line at the bottom. Keep all lines light and loose.

Mix Violet with Ultramarine to create a deep purple-blue night sky color. Using your large flat brush, apply this color across the entire canvas above the ground line. The brushstrokes can be slightly visible — a little texture adds to the moody night atmosphere. Let dry for 1–2 minutes.

Mix Titanium White with a small touch of Lemon Yellow to create a warm cream color. Fill in the moon circle in the upper right with smooth circular strokes. The warm glow of the moon against the dark purple sky creates a beautiful contrast.

Using Lamp Black, fill in the ground area along the bottom of the canvas. Then paint the tree trunk and branches on the left side — start with a thick trunk at the base and let it taper into thinner branches toward the top. The bare black tree silhouette against the purple sky creates the perfect spooky atmosphere.

Fill in the pumpkin shape with Orange, using smooth strokes. Once dry, use Lamp Black and a fine brush to paint the jack-o-lantern face: two triangle eyes, a small triangle nose, and a wide jagged smile with rectangular teeth. Finally, paint a small black stem at the top of the pumpkin.

Using a fine brush and Titanium White, add small dot stars scattered across the night sky. Step back and look at your painting — touch up any areas as needed. Your Halloween pumpkin painting is complete! 🎃
